Kentucky Vehicle Power of Attorney Form

The Kentucky vehicle power of attorney form is a document that a Principal would use to grant powers to an Agent so that they may be able to do a transaction or transactions with regard to the purchase, sale. inspection or registration of a motor vehicle, in the event of illness or absence of the Principal. This document will allow an Agent to do all transactions including providing the signature on the behalf of the Principal. The document will be good until the act or acts are completed.

This document will require Notarization. It will also revoke any other documents of the same type, created by the Principal. The document may also be revoked at any time in which the Principal may deem necessary by simply providing notice in writing to the Agent and delivering or having the document served.

How to Write

Step 1 – The Parties –

  • At the top of the document, enter the name of the Principal (company or individual)
  • AND
  • Enter the name of the delegate, to whom powers are being granted
  • Both parties must read the remainder of the paragraph

Step 2 – Signature(s) – Enter the following:

  • Signature must be provided by either a company authorized officer or an individual
  • If the document is being executed by an individual, the person must provide their date of birth and Social Security Number

If powers are being granted by a company –

  • Enter the company Identification number

Step 3 – Notary Acknowledgement –

  • Once the Notary Public has had the opportunity to witness the Agent’s signature, the notary shall then enter all of the state required information to include providing the notary’s official seal

Step 4 – Vehicle Inspection –

  • Prior to the sale of any vehicle the individual or company is required to provide a vehicle safety inspection. Therefore there is an inspection form included with the powers of attorney form. All items on the list must be inspected to ensure the items are working and safe
