North Dakota Vehicle Power of Attorney Form | |
The North Dakota Vehicle Power of Attorney Form is a document whereas a Principal would authorize an Agent a notarized document that shall provide powers to the Agent, indefinitely, to act on behalf of the Principal to do business in their stead while the Principal is unavailable. The powers available to the Agent are pertaining to the purchase, sale, registration, titling, change of ownership among other duties to be performed when needed by the Principal.
This document requires the witness of a state licensed Notary Public with signatories also present. This document may be revoked by the Principal at any time. Revocation must be in writing, notarized and must be delivered to the Agent.
How to Write
Step 1 – Download and review the document – enter the following:
- Name of the Company or Individual providing powers
- AND
- Enter the name of the Agent
- Read the remainder of the paragraph. At the end of the paragraph, if in agreement, an authorized company officer or an individual must provide signature before a notary public.
Step 2 – Note – If the Agent is an individual, provide the following information must be provided
- The Agent’s Date of Birth in mm/dd/yyyy format
- Social Security Number (SSN)
- OR
- If the document is in a company name, provide the Federal Identification Number (FIN)
Step 3 – Notarization –
As the document has been completed and the signature(s) have been applied in witness of the Notary Public, the Notary shall then complete the document with all information required by the state and affixing the official seal, in acknowledgement of the validity of the document.
Step 4 – Inspection Sheet –
Auto sales persons are generally required to provide a completed safety inspection for any vehicle that is sold. Print the Inspection Form and take it, along with the vehicle to be inspected, to a licensed safety inspection station. When the vehicle has passed inspection, the inspection document must be provided to the buyer for titling and registration.
