South Dakota Vehicle Power of Attorney Form | |
The South Dakota vehicle power of attorney form is a document that is provided so that a Principal may provide an Agent the powers to participate and sign documents for the sale, purchase, applications for Certificate of Title, registration, bills of sale and more. Provide all of the required information to assign a preferred Agent.
This document will require the services of a Notary Public so that the document may be deemed effective. The document may be revoked at any time by the Principal.
How to Write
Step 1 – The Parties – Enter the following information:
- Enter the name of the Principal
- The City in which the document shall be executed
- AND
- Enter the names of the Agent(s)
- Street Addresses,City, State, Zip Codes
Step 2 – Agent’s Appointed Powers – Group 1 would be used if there would be more than one person named as Agent –
- Jointly – both Agent’s must sign
- Severally – Either Agent may sign
Group 2 – One or more selections must be made –
- To apply for a Certificate of Title for the described vehicle or vessel
- To assign all rights, title and interest as to the described vehicle or vessel on behalf of the undersigned
Step 3 – Vehicle or Vessel Descriptions – Enter the following
Vehicle Description –
- Year
- Make
- Model
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Title Number
Vessel Description –
- Year
- Make
- Type
- Hull Identification Number
- Title Number
Step 4 – Signatures – Must be signed before a notary:
- Read the paragraph
- Enter the date of the execution of the document in dd/mm/yy format
- Enter the signature of the Principal
- Enter the printed name of the Principal
- AND
- Enter the Signature of an Agent
- Enter the Printed name of an Agent
Notarization –
- When the document has been completed and the Notary Public has witnessed the signatures, the Notary will then be required to complete the remainder of the document and affix the official seal in acknowledgement
