Mississippi Vehicle Power of Attorney Form | |
The Mississippi vehicle power of attorney form is a document that is provided by the owner of a motor vehicle, that, by completion of the Principal, shall transfer powers to an Agent, to oversee all of the acts that a Principal would do if they were present. This document will remain in effect until the completion of the act.
If the Principal feels the need to revoke this document, it may be revoked at any time, in writing by the Principal and deliver to the Agent. This document must be notarized before it will become in effect.
How to Write
Step 1 – Location –
- On the top left side of the document, enter the name of the county in which the document is being executed
Step 2 – Parties – Provide the following information:
- Enter the name of the Principal (which must be the same name entered on the certificate of title)
- Principal’s Address
- Name of the County of the Principal’s Residence
- AND
- Enter the name of the selected Agent
- Agent’s Address
- County of Agent’s Residence
Step 3 – Vehicle Information – As follows:
- Make
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Year
- Body Type
- Title Number (located on the title of the vehicle)
- The Principal must read the remainder of the section
Step 4 – Odometer Reading – Enter the odometer reading (no tenths of a mile) and initial the line that best indicates the condition of the odometer reading if either are applicable:
- I hereby certify that the mileage state is in excess of the mechanical limits
- The odometer reading is not actual mileage -Warning-Odometer Discrepancy
Step 5 – Notarization –
The Notary Public will witness the signature of the Principal in acknowledgement of the document. The Principal will be required to provide signature before the Notary Public, after which the Notary shall affix an official state seal
