New York Vehicle Power of Attorney Form | |
The New York vehicle power of attorney form is a document that a Principal would provide to an Agent so that they may, provide the agent a notarized document that shall provide powers to the Agent, indefinitely, to act on behalf of the Principal.The powers available to the Agent would be the purchase, sale, registration, titling, change of ownership among other duties to be performed in the event of illness or absence of the Principal.
This document will require the presence of a Notary Public with signatories also present. The document may also be revoked by the Principal at any time.
How to Write
Step 1 – Once the document has been downloaded, enter the following:
- The name of the Company or Individual providing powers to the Agent
- AND
- Enter the name of the Agent
- At the end of the paragraph, if in agreement, the authorized officer of a company or individual must provide signature before a notary.
Step 2 – Note – If the Agent is an individual, provide the following information:
- The Agent’s Date of Birth in mm/dd/yyyy format
- Social Security Number (SSN)
- OR
- If the document is in a company name, provide the Federal Identification Number (FIN) in the line provided
Step 3 – Notarization –
After the document has been completed and the signature(s) have been applied in witness of the Notary Public, the Notary shall then complete the document , affixing the official state seal, in acknowledgement of the validity of the document.
Step 4 – Inspection Sheet –
Companies are generally required to provide a completed safety inspection for any vehicle the sell. Print the Inspection Form and take it, along with the vehicle to be inspected, to a licensed safety inspection station. Once the vehicle has passed inspection, this document must be provided to the buyer for registration.
