Michigan Real Estate ONLY Power of Attorney Form | |
The Michigan real estate ONLY power of attorney form is a document that a Principal will complete granting written powers to another person whom the Principal has selected to oversee any sale, mortgage transfer, rent, mortgage or lease, paperwork and/or transactions pertaining to specific real property belonging to the Principal. This document will not grant access to any of the Principal’s bank or financial accounts, nor will it allow the Agent to make medical decisions on behalf of the Principal. The Agent should attend to this Principal’s real property management and/or business as if the Principal were present to attend to their own business.
This document must only be signed before a licensed Notary Public or two (2) witnesses. The document may be revoked by the Principal at any time by placing a notice in writing and delivering it to the Agent.
How to Write
Step 1 – Download the document – the Principal must enter:
- The full name of the Principal
- The city of residence
- Provide the full address of the Principal
- More fully describe the real property or properties of which the Agent will care for in whatever capacity that the Principal requests
- If the property is being sold by the Agent, enter the address of the property
- Read the remainder of the document
Step 2 – Date and Signature – The signatures must be submitted before a Notary Public:
- Date the document and signatures in mm/dd/yyyy format
- The witnesses must each provide their signatures
- Enter the name of the Principal
- Enter the name of the Agent/Attorney In Fact
Once the document has been completed and the Notary has witnessed all of the signatures, the notary shall complete the remaining required information so that the document shall be acknowledged
