Washington General Financial Power of Attorney Form | |
The Washington general financial power of attorney form is a legal document that delegates powers by a Principal to an elected Attorney In Fact/Agent to manage all bank and other financial account, manage, refinance, acquire or sell personal and real property. The same document provides health care powers. The Principal may wish to consult with an attorney before proceeding with the completion of this document.
All parties must sign before either a notary public or two (2) witnesses.
How to Write
Step 1 – Parties – Enter the following:
- Principal’s name
- Street address
- AND
- Agent’s name
- Street address
Step 2 – Powers –
- Read and initial the lines preceding selected powers paragraphs 1 through 17 and enter additional information where required
- Review – Interpretation and Governing Law
Step 3 – Effective Date and Termination – Provide the following:
- Indicate, by initialing the preceding line, when the form shall become effective (enter a date in mm/dd/yyyy format if necessary)
- Initial all of the applicable lines pertaining to the termination of the document (enter a date in mm/dd/yyyy format if necessary)
- Carefully review the “Third Party Reliance”
Step 4 – Signatures – Submit the following:
- Date the Principal’s signature in dd/m/yy format
- Principal’s signature
- Principal’s Printed Name
Step 5 – Acceptance of Appointment (Agent) – Submit:
- Agent’s full name
- Agent’s signature
- Agent’s Printed Name
Step 6 – Witnesses Signatures – Read the attestation and submit:
- Witnesses Signatures
- Witnesses Addresses
Step 7 – Acknowledgement of Notary Public –
- The notary shall witness all signatures
- The notary public shall then complete the remainder of the document and shall affix the official seal
