Michigan Power of Attorney Forms as defined in the Estates and Protected Individuals Code, are documents that are completed by a Principal to designate an Agent to oversee their financial and business affairs in the event the Principal should require an absence or become incapacitated. In the state of Michigan, through a Durable Financial powers document, as an example, the Principal would be permitted to appoint a trusted Agent, to care for financial or any other related affairs while the Principal is unable to be present to make their own decisions. This may apply to simply completing transactions for property of any kind to end of life scenarios. Documents may require the witness of two outside parties who are 18 years of age or older or the witness of a notary public, as stated in The Estates and Protected Individuals Code.
